Fluoride is a common mineral added to toothpaste, and is also added to our water. Today I will be focusing on fluoride being added to our water. I believe we should have the choice to drink fluoride. Although it may help prevent cavities in our teeth and may strengthen our enamel, fluoride can cause health impacts which could’ve been avoided entirely.

Fluoride has been linked to symptoms of stomach pain and indigestion. Unfortunately, this means that many people may be experiencing digestive problems due to fluoride and have no idea what the problem is. This leads to further medication and doctor visits to treat symptoms while the problem still persists in our water.
Many physicians fear fluoride may play a role in fatigue, weight gain, cold hands and feet, dry skin and brain fog. Also, experiments have been done with fluoride in male rats. Concerns have been raised for increased risks of cancer to our bones, the thyroid and in the liver. All this from drinking our ‘safe’ water?
Alternatives to drinking fluoride in our water is sparse as this is the only widely available water we can get our hands on. If we could have the choice to get clean, natural water delivered to our door, instead of chemical filled water, we could save so much money on doctor visits, medication, and in the long term, we could live longer, healthier lives.
In conclusion, fluoride in our water should be optional. Sure, it may help prevent cavities and strengthen enamel in the long run, but fluoride is disgusting and is causing serious health problems now.
